This page collects the questions HVAC owners ask us before they hire anyone, including the uncomfortable ones. The answers above are short on purpose. Below, we go a little deeper on the four topics that come up in nearly every first conversation: cost, commitment, ownership and proof.

Frequently asked questions

How much does HVAC marketing cost with HVAC-Marketing.ca?

Managed plans are Starter at $2,998, Growth at $4,498 and Elite at $8,998 per month. Websites are $3,500, $6,500 or $12,500 one-time plus a monthly care plan from $149. All prices are in Canadian dollars, and Canadian clients add GST/HST based on their province (GST and QST in Quebec).

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No. There is no lock-in. You can start with a free 7-day trial that needs no credit card, and continue only if the plan makes sense for your business.

We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?

Ask what went wrong first. Usually it's one of three things: the agency measured clicks instead of booked jobs, the website or phone handling leaked the leads, or the plan was cancelled before it could compound. We start with an audit that shows which it was, and we report on booked jobs.

Who owns the website, domain and ad accounts?

Your domain, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics should be in your company's name, whoever runs them. Ask us to confirm ownership of each asset in writing before you start, as you should with any agency.

How long before we see results?

Paid search can produce calls within days. Business Profile and review work usually shows within weeks. SEO typically shows early movement within a few months and stronger gains over six to twelve months.

Can you promise a number of leads or a first-page ranking?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Google controls rankings, and leads depend on your market, budget and capacity. We agree on targets and milestones with you and report honestly against them.

What will your reports show?

Calls, texts and quote requests by channel, booked jobs where your call log or CRM allows, cost per booked job, and what we changed and why. Starter includes monthly reporting, Growth weekly reporting, and Elite a real-time dashboard and custom reporting.

Do you work with HVAC companies outside BC?

Yes. We are headquartered in Vancouver and serve HVAC companies across all ten provinces and three territories, adjusting plans for local climate, heating mix, programs and language rules.

Do you install or repair HVAC equipment?

No. HVAC-Marketing.ca markets and advises HVAC, heating and cooling companies across Canada. We are not an HVAC contractor and do not install, repair or service any equipment.

Can you market heat-pump rebates for us?

We can help you explain programs accurately, with dates and links to the administrator. As of October 2026, several federal heat-pump programs have closed and the National Heat Pump Rebate announced on October 8, 2026 has not opened, so careful wording matters.

Will you work with my competitor down the street?

Raise it on your first call. You're entitled to a straight answer about whether we already work with a company competing for the same services in the same area, and you should have it before you decide.

What do you need from us?

Access to your website, Business Profile and ad accounts, a clear list of the services and areas you want to grow, someone who can answer questions about your licences and warranties, and a phone line that gets answered.

Cost: what you'll actually pay

Short answer: plans from $2,998 per month and websites from $3,500, plus GST/HST by province (GST and QST in Quebec), plus any ad budget billed separately.

The plan fee is only part of the picture. The real cost of HVAC marketing is the plan, plus your ad spend, plus the time your team spends answering calls and following up. The useful question is not "is it expensive?" but "what does each booked job cost, and is that less than the margin it brings?" Our pricing page includes a worked break-even example, and the budget guide shows how to set a target cost per booked job for your own margins.

Commitment: contracts, trials and leaving

Short answer: no lock-in, a free 7-day trial, and the expectation that you stay because it's working.

A long contract protects the agency, not you. We'd rather earn the next month. That said, some work needs time to judge fairly. SEO, in particular, needs months to compound, so we agree milestones at the start: what should be true by month three, month six and month twelve. If those milestones aren't met, you have a clear basis to stop or change course.

The trial is genuinely free and needs no credit card. In seven days we audit your marketing, check your website's performance, analyse your SEO and benchmark you against competitors.

Ownership: whose accounts are they?

Short answer: yours. Your domain, Business Profile, ad accounts, analytics and call tracking should be in your company's name.

Unclear ownership is what makes owners feel trapped by an agency, because leaving means losing years of history. Before you start with anyone, check:

  • Domain: registered to your company, with you holding the login
  • Google Business Profile: you as owner, the agency as manager
  • Google Ads and Meta ads: accounts in your name, billed to your card or with transparent invoicing
  • Analytics and tracking: your property, with agency access granted
  • Website files and content: clear terms on what you keep if you leave

Reporting: what a useful report looks like

Short answer: a report should start with calls and booked jobs, then explain the activity that produced them.

You can read a 30-page agency report full of impressions, click-through rates and ranking charts and still not know whether marketing paid for itself. A useful HVAC report fits on one page at the top:

  1. Calls, texts and quote requests this period, by channel
  2. Booked jobs, where your call log or CRM lets us match them
  3. Spend, by channel, including ad budget
  4. Cost per booked job, compared with last period and the same month last year
  5. What we changed, what we learned and what we'll do next

Seasonality matters when you read it. Comparing November with July tells you little about a furnace business; comparing this November with last November tells you a lot. Our guide to reading HVAC marketing reports explains each metric and the warning signs of a report written to hide weak results.

Proof: how to judge whether we're any good

Short answer: look at named, live HVAC websites and ask how the results were measured.

We don't publish anonymous success stories or quotes we can't back up. Every result we cite names the client and links the live site, for example CombiBoiler.ca, which reached 300% ROI with 300+ monthly leads, and Roma Heating & Cooling, which grew organic traffic by 400% in 12 months. The results page explains what each case shows.

Still have a question?

Short answer: call, text or email, and you'll get a direct answer from a senior strategist.

The contact page explains what to include in your first message so we can give you a useful answer quickly. If you'd like to know more about who we are first, read the about page.
